The China Fashion Talent Development Alliance began a campaign to help young fashion talent during its second annual conference.
It will solicit programs to help young fashion talent connect with the industry and support them in starting up businesses.
“To win in the fashion industry through higher quality, we need to cultivate talent and find new blood ,” said Lu Wenjun, president of the Shanghai International Fashion Education Center, one of the founders of the alliance.
A think tank was also established in the alliance.
“The fashion industry is facing big changes. Every consumer seems have developed their own fashion in the new era through e-commerce platforms, such as Taobao,” said Bian Xiangyang, director of the Shanghai’s fashion city promotion center.
“There is a mismatch between supply and demand, which cannot be explained by traditional theories,” he added. “How to meet the new fashion demand is a challenge for both educators and industrial insiders. We hope our think tank will help us find solutions.”
